ASTM A490

A490 is a ASTM International specification for heavy hex structural bolts. A490 covers two types of quenched and tempered, alloy steel heavy hex structural bolts having a tensile strength of 150 to 173 ksi.  These bolts are intended for structural connections and are furnished in sizes 1/2" to 1-1/2" inclusive.

ASTM A490

A490 is a ASTM International specification for heavy hex structural bolts.

 

A490 covered two types of quenched and tempered, alloy steel heavy hex structural bolts having a tensile strength of 150 to 173 ksi.  These bolts are intended for structural connections and are furnished in sizes 1/2" to 1-1/2" inclusive. It was withdrawn in 2016 and became a grade of F3125. However, A490 is still commonly referred to, so it is listed here for reference.

Medium carbon and alloy steel.

 

A354 Type 3:

Weathering steel.

Or in which a definite range or minimum quantity of any of the following elements is specified or required within the limits of the recognized field of constructional alloy steels.
